Food-Grade Magnesium Sulphate (MgSO4) for RO Plants
Magnesium drinking water minerals for RO plants. Magnesium sulphate heptahydrate (also called Epsom salt), food additive E518, assay min. 99%. Rs 800 per kg, delivered across Pakistan.
Add magnesium for a smoother taste
Magnesium is the second hardness mineral, after calcium. A measured dose of food-grade magnesium sulphate after the RO membrane gives water a smooth, rounded mouthfeel and balances the calcium you add.

What magnesium does in your plant
- Restores magnesium hardness. RO removes it almost completely. Adding it back makes the water more like good natural drinking water.
- Smooths the taste. Magnesium rounds off the mouthfeel of remineralised water.
- Balances calcium. Plants usually dose it together with calcium chloride.
- Needs a light hand. Too much magnesium sulphate makes water taste bitter, so increase the dose in small steps.

How plants use it
- Dissolve the crystals in clean RO water to make a stock solution in your dosing tank.
- Dose it into the product water after the RO membrane, usually with a dosing (metering) pump.
- Start low, then check TDS and taste and adjust step by step.
How much each gram adds, and how to check your water after dosing, are explained in our RO water remineralisation guide. For the TDS range to aim for, see our TDS level chart for drinking water.
Every plant's water is different. Send us your water report and plant capacity on WhatsApp and we'll suggest a starting dose for your plant.
Storage
Keep pouches sealed in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight and at least 1 metre from heat sources.
Magnesium sulphate price in Pakistan: Rs 800 per kg
| Pack | Price | Works out to |
|---|---|---|
| 1 kg pouch | Rs 800 | Rs 800 per kg |
| 2 kg box | Rs 1,550 | Rs 775 per kg |
| 5 kg box | Rs 3,800 | Rs 760 per kg |
Delivery is extra, and we confirm it on the phone before dispatch. In Pakistan you'll also see magnesium sulphate sold as Epsom salt in pharmacies and as a fertiliser in agri shops. Chemically it's the same compound, but the grade isn't the same. Fertiliser grade is made for soil. For drinking water, ask for food grade and a certificate that shows the lead and arsenic results.
Magnesium sulphate uses: one compound, many grades
- Water plants: adds back the magnesium that RO takes out. That's the only use we pack it for.
- Food and brewing (E518): FAO's food additive specification lists it as a nutrient, flavour enhancer, firming agent and a fermentation aid in beer making.
- Farming: fertiliser-grade magnesium sulphate is sold as a source of magnesium and sulphur for crops.
- Pharmacies: sold as Epsom salt. We make no claims about those uses.

Common questions
Is magnesium sulphate the same as Epsom salt?
Yes, chemically. Epsom salt is the common name for magnesium sulphate heptahydrate, MgSO4·7H2O, the same form we sell. Grades differ though: ours is food grade and packed for drinking water plants.
What is the price of magnesium sulphate in Pakistan?
Our food-grade magnesium sulphate is Rs 800 per kg: Rs 800 for a 1 kg pouch, Rs 1,550 for a 2 kg box and Rs 3,800 for a 5 kg box. Delivery is extra.
How much magnesium does magnesium sulphate add to water?
Less than most people expect. 1 gram in 1,000 litres adds about 0.10 mg/L magnesium, because most of the salt is sulphate and water. To add 5 mg/L magnesium you need about 50 grams per 1,000 litres.
Can I use fertiliser-grade magnesium sulphate in an RO plant?
We wouldn't. Fertiliser grade isn't made or tested for drinking water. Use food grade with a certificate of analysis that shows purity and heavy metal results.
Do you deliver outside Lahore?
Yes. Lahore orders arrive the same day. Other cities in Pakistan usually get theirs in 2 to 3 days by courier, and payment is by bank transfer before dispatch. Delivery charges are extra and we confirm them on the phone.
